ESPN Tip-Off Schedule Announced
ESPN has unveiled plans for its fourth annual college hoops classic schedule with 25 hours and 19 games from across 21 conferences. College hoops fans start the season with a 24-hour marathon, Tuesday, Nov. 15, at midnight (ET) with Washington State at Gonzaga. The featured men’s games are Duke-Michigan State and Kentucky-Kansas in the Champions Classic at Madison Square Garden
BYU reinstates honor code-violating Davies
BYU fans rejoiced on news that forward Brandon Davies had been readmitted to the university and reinstated onto the team. You may remember Davies- controversial suspension for an honor code violation last March, just before the Cougars tournament run. A national debate ensued when news broke that the violation was premarital sex with his girlfriend.
Drummond Commits to Connecticut.
The repeat tweets just got a lot louder in the northeast as top prospect Andre Drummond, a 6-foot-11 center from Middletown, Conn., tweeted his commitment to defending national-champion Connecticut. Drummond reversed his previous decision at the last minute, deciding a stay in Storrs beats a year at Wilbraham and Monson prep. As classes start Tuesday, many questions remain about whether he will be on scholarship, his status with the NCAA clearinghouse, and just how this all happened.
Gardner Tweets His Way Off Mississippi State
In yet another example of the bitter twitter, talented freshman guard D.J. Gardner was booted from MSU “for repeated action deemed detrimental to the team,’ according to an official. In a profanity-laced tweet that doesn’t belong on a family friendly site, Gardner illustrated why coach Rick Stansbury banned the use of Twitter among the team late last season.
